Benefits of Iyengar Yoga Poses for Enlightenment!

What are the Benefits of Iyengar Yoga Poses for spiritual seekers? Iyengar Yoga practice is a Hatha Yoga style that utilizes various props and equipment to make poses, positions, and postures safer and easier.

The props and equipment utilized include belts, cushions, benches, blocks and blankets.

The props help to preform postures correctly and reduce the risk of strain and injury. This type of Hatha Yoga is accessible to both young and old.

Like all styles of Hatha Yoga Iyengar helps the development of strength, flexibility, mobility, and stability.

Iyengar Yoga is a branch of the traditional Ashtanga Yoga practice, and also aims to unite the body, mind, and spirit for health, happiness, well-being, and longevity.

Iyengar Yoga is great for beginners of Hatha Yoga and for the elderly, as the various props allows students to experience correct postures easier than would be possible in other Hatha styles.

The poses are traditional, yet easier and safer to perform. After practicing Iyengar for a while, advanced students may progress to some of the more challenging styles, or continue within Iyengar, but with less use of the props.

Like all types of Hatha Yoga, Iyengar should be practiced in conjunction with the other aspects of Yoga. Full yoga practice includes the development of increased spiritual awareness through the understanding of higher spiritual truths.

In order to fully advance along the path to Enlightenment one should also practice Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga.

Jnana is for the cultivation of Wisdom and Knowledge.

Raja is for regaining control of one’s mind.

Karma is for right action.

Bhakti is for the development of Love. There is little spiritual evolution without love.

Of all the paths to learn, practice, and follow, the greatest path in this present time is Jnana Yoga, the path of Wisdom.

The Information age is upon us. For all true spiritual seekers of Truth, Salvation, and Enlightenment, the answers have never been more available.

Seek and you shall find.

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find anything that agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
