What is Enlightenment?

Enlightenment is the final destination of one’s spiritual evolution. The path to this state has been taught by the greatest spiritual teachers of all time.

The state has many names, derived from different cultures, and origins of the teachings. Some of the names are: Truth, Allness, Is-ness, Reality, Awareness, Oneness, Totality, Divinity, Self, Christ Consciousness, Krishna Consciousness, Buddha Nature, Nirvana, Absoluteness, I, I Am, Bodhi, Non-Duality, Moksha, Salvation, Liberation, Self-Realization, Pure Consciousness, Awake.

The experience is the same regardless of the name. Truth is complete and all inclusive. The Awakened Mystics and Avatars have all taught the same thing.

The differences merely come from the variations in cultures and religious traditions at the time. For example, Jesus was teaching to the Jewish Peoples, and Buddha to the Indians.

Jesus had to incorporate God of Abraham into his teaching and called him God the Father. Buddha was teaching to a diverse culture, with many representations of God, so he did away with a specific name and taught to focus on Oneness, and Allness.

God the Father, God of Abraham, Oneness, and Alness are all words to describe the same Being, The Creator, and Maintainer of this glorious Universe.

The Religious debates throughout the centuries merely stem from ignorance of exclusivity on Truth. Some traditions see their path as the only means to Truth and all others as false. We all know of the calamities these beliefs have caused.

The teachings of Truth taught by our great teachers are all encompassing. It is said that there is 10,000 ways to God, and that the path is straight and narrow. These sayings are both true because of the many different teachers and teachings, and because they all taught the same thing, Truth. The only way to reach Self-Realization is through Truth.
