Benefits of Ashtanga Yoga Practice for Enlightenment!
Ashtanga Yoga is an ancient style of Yoga made popular by K. Pattabhi Jois. Ashtanga literally means “eight-limbed” yoga. Sage Patanjali taught this process of purification in his “Yoga Sutras.”
The Eight Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga are:
Niyama "Self-purification and study" Asana "Posture" Pranayama "Breath control" Pratyahara "Sense control" Dharana "Concentration" Dhyana "Meditation" Samadhi "Enlightenment"
Moral codes and Right action is necessary for spiritual advancement, Karma is indeed real. Self-purification and Study is an absolute requirement. Spiritual awakening is sped up and nurtured by the desire to gain True Wisdom.
Controlling the senses is a necessity, as sense gratification is the goal of the false ego. True happiness is found within. Concentration and meditation are necessary requirements for spiritual advancement. If one cannot control their mind, then one is being influenced by unseen forces. Everyone is under the control of programs and influences that they have adopted throughout their lifetime. Concentration and meditation will lead to the letting go of these false programs.
Transcending the levels of consciousness has always been the purpose of Yoga. There is a global awakening taking place right now. World peace and harmony is our destiny as in reality we are all one. There is one creation of Human Consciousness, and we are all a part of this Oneness. Seek the Truth. Now is the time. We are all headed for spiritual awakening; you may be one of the first.

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find anything that agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
